Social scientists and architecture and design scholars from the University of Chicago, Northern Illinois, Berkeley, and the Art Institute discuss questions raised by the projects presented in the exhibition as well as their own relevant research, and their implications for understanding Chicago, the Great Lakes Region, and the contemporary city in general. Topics will include inequality and poverty, planning and sustainability, legality and privilege, urban renewal and gentrification, and the unique problems and opportunities presented in post-industrial cities.
