Join artist and designer Fereshteh Toosi to celebrate the completion of her multi-sensory book Shoebox Lunch, part of the GARLIC & GREENS initiative, which began at Chicago’s public interest design educator Archeworks. This oral history project features stories told by Donna Pierce, Audrey Petty, Marcus Johnson, Lynn Manning, Joy Smith, and Dorothy Horton-Jackson.

This interactive documentary object highlights the intersections between Black culture, migration, health, and wellness through the sense of touch, taste, and smell. Copies of the book will be available but quantities are limited. Your purchase will allow us to share the project for free with people who are low or no vision.
